View Full Version : Per AoA: No Quattro-manual combinations regardless of engine

Wow, discussion over on AW about the disclosures at the California event. No quattro on the 2.0 at all, and no manual on the 3.2 so no quattro/manual combinations on the A3 at all.

Very disappointing as any serious tuning on either would exceed the DSG's ability (according to the current specs on that tranny).

Really disappointing - I hope this changes in the future. I don't think I can own a FWD again. Maybe the DSG will be upgradeable as well.

So who told Audi no quattro/sticks was a good idea?

What thats really sh*ty, I wonder if their still going to bring over a 2 door.

Still bring over a two door? Never heard officially that they were going to.

As for the quattro/manual setup, that's too bad. Guess I'll definitely still stick with my plan of getting the FWD 2.0T for now.

I'd imagine when they release the S3 it'll be DSG. Perhaps full manual will be an option on that one...we shall see.

ha thats is really depressing, I may be keeping my B5 now
I really was hoping for a Quattro 2.0T

they'll change that...there's no way they'll sell a SPORTBACK w/ the key word being SPORT and not offering 2.0T quattro Manual

I really was hoping for a Quattro 2.0T Wasn't it you that said they wouldn't be getting one until three years from now!? I don't think you'll have to worry... [:D]

yea haha
hopefully by then the'll have the right idea

Hopefully by then we'll have an S3 here, because I'm only leasing my new A3 2.0T for 2 years. [:D]

Well that settles it then. I'm getting a MkV GTI. I think it's a big mistake to not have a manual available on the A3. I bet they change that in a year or two...

They will have a manual available on the A3. The 2.0T is available in either 6-speed or DSG.

Can you find the thread in AW again? I'm having no luck searching for it. TIA.

There will be manual with quattro, Audi won't make that mistake.

It was expected first year model to be non quattro.
