2000 A4 1.8T, 127k Manual.

I got the car slightly hit and got it fixed. Car came with aftermarket intake

Everything ran fine, but when i switched back to a stock intake it started idling rough and the car turns off unless i give it gas and keep the idle 2000rpm's or higher for 30 to 40 seconds. After that it runs fine on its own.

This only happens when its cold, If the engine is warm, starts with no problems.

Try cleaning the MAF and AIR temperature sensor.

Sounds like a dirty/faulty MAF or an intake leak to me. Cleaning the MAF and inspecting the intake for leaks would be a good start. No codes?

this happened to me once when I took out the intake and then put it back on.

ended up putting in a new MAF and it got fixed.

As others have said - MAF. Throwing any codes? Make sure the hose coming from the crank case is plugged back into the stock intake as well, it helps with cold start.

No codes for now

Found out the intake hose was just next to the hole. Seemed pluged up unless you touch it. My brother put the stock intake on, sucks at it.

Thanks for the help!!!
