Last week I called the dealer to plan an apt. for a few things: 55k checkup, rear pads/rotors, and a new crankcase breather valve. The last 2 issues were already noted by the dealership last time when i had the car looked at. This weekend I decided that I would do the brakes and 55k checkup myself, only dropping the car off tomorrow for the breather valve. Did the sparks no problem and moved onto oil. Removed the belly pan and already their was some fresh oil in it. Drained old oil (couldn't get filter out, need to get the socket from europaparts), put new oil in, tightened everything up. Spilled some of the new oil when I was pouring it in, and in minutes it dripped all the way down below the car. A 40 minute drive after that yesterday and everything was alright. Checked back tonight and saw some dirty oil below the car. I moved it so I can check back tomorrow and see if it is mine.
But my question is whether a crankcase breather valve can cause oil leaks this great?

I had similar issues and found out it was the PCV valve that was faulty. When it goes it causes backpressure and oil spits out of the oil cap and probably everywhere else.
