I did a search but didn't turn up anything except the legality of the issue. However, here in Delaware, there are no front license plates. So I tried removing my bracket, but the screws in the middle(They seem to be Torx screws) won't budge at all. I tried all kinds of WD-40 and everything. Only the regular screws came out. Any suggestions on how to get this off w/o doing damage(besides the holes already drilled)? Thanks for the time.

thye should come out, there not held in there any special way just turn harder i guess is the only advice i have....the bigger problem is how to cover up the 3 holes youll have in your front bumper after you get the bracket off....

Exactly. There should be nothing else holding it on the car. Keep looking and trying.

Will you sell me the plate holder? I took mine off and found overspray and big wholes in my bumper cover and I lost the orginal in a move.

I live in Newark/Hockessin. I'm gonna try and get a picture today of what it looks like, I had a concert at MSG last night and didn't have time.

I did everything I could to get them off by hand with a straight screwdriver. maybe I just need something with a little more torque to get those suckers out. I just dont them to strip. Ironic, I love it when women strip.

try a drill with a torx-15 or torx-20 bit, i forgot which one it was, that should get the biatch off

yea, they should just be able to come out. If you try to remove them with a breaker bar and shit and they still do not want to budge there is one more option. You can take a very VERY small drill bit, drill through the center of the screws. This gap allows the screws to flex and shrink more incase they started oxidizing. I would do this only as a last resort but I have done it and it does work.....you can also try using a little heat like a blow torch just make sure you don't get it so hot you melt your bumper.

Ok, now I got the bracket off, but I'm stuck with screws sticking out beyond the bumper. How can I fix this? Thanks.

So heres the results of my bracket after chizelling away on those fricken stiff screws. I then chizzelled on the screws sticking out of my bumper until they broke off. Next plans are to research what to fill them with(I know its been mentioned before) and then pick that stuff up at Home Depot. Thanks for the suggestions from everyone, I used a little bit of everything.

i hope you used a smaller bit than that, otherwise it would have just twisted the heads off the screws....oh well looks like you got it off [up]

hahah I just did this to my car the other day.. Mine were bolted on there soooooo tight I ended up breaking one alen wrench and then striping the damn head, so I ended up drilling the screw out, and snapping the head off, I also have the 3 holes in my bumper, my car is black so It is less noticable.. I am in RI and it is illegal not to have a front plate... sooo stupid.. Looks great though...

I tried to get mine off too and gave up
(thought it would make it easer to polish the bumper with it removed)

I take mine off when I wax, never really had a problem. Although the one on the back will NEVER come off.

I too am looking for the mounting bracket up front. Black would be preferred. If any of you guys/girls (you never know) are interested in selling it let me know.
thanks...
