This is probably a dumb question. I have a 05 a6. The bolt caps are pretty tough to get off, is there a special tool or certain way to remove them? It took me a while to pop them off and I didn't see anything in the tool kit in the trunk. Thanks!

There should be a tool, in the shape of a "U". It is made of black plastic. slip the open end of the "U" over the lug bolt caps and pull. Voila!

Hm that doesn't seem to be in my toolkit. Any idea where I could get one cheap? Thanks a ton

If you have a "Discount Tire Co" store Close to you, Stop in and they should give you one. I work there as my 2nd job and I wouldn't have a problem giving the tool away since we have
Box's of them.

Sry I'm not much more help.

Here's what it looks like.

No that's a ton of help. For some reason, I have Only a few tools. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place, this is the only thing I have. A piece of plastic. Some type of wrench. A small hook type thing and a Phillips screwdriver with a bolt pattern on the back

Anyone mind explaining what these items go to haha. Im not sure why Audi would make a screwdriver with a bolt pattern on the back when the screw driver is plastic.

Here's a picture from my drop box.

That metal round piece is for your lug caps... Do they have a hole in the center of them?
they shouldnt, but that tool is for the caps that have a small hole in the center, stick it in and pull em off.

Looks like you just have the wrong cap tool....

Also, the black metal thing is for putting on your wheels. Before you put on a wheel you screw that in, acting like a lug, it helps you align the wheel onto the hub while installing.
Once your holding the wheel on the hub just unscrew it and install a lug.

Big metal thing is for your lugs... to change a tire. lol

And why is there a t-shirt stuffed in there.... lol

Oh I didn't know that haha. That's actually a good idea with the black piece. But anyway the caps don't have a hole. Here's the caps:

And the shirt is part of my hand made emergency system. My old car I ended up on the highway and for a flat tire. So I stuffed this in there wrapped in the T shirt (rag):

The shirt also helps with sound suppression if the can decides to move around back there. Also under the big flap thing is a small pump and a can of slime as well. I like to be prepared haha.

These caps are almost impossible. I tried needle nose, screw drivers. I guess the tools were snagged before I got the car. Here's what I have. I'm not sure what I'm missing but I took a picture of my little compartment. :

See Where my finger is.. I think something large is missing in there.

Great help! These are available at the dealer for less than 3 dollars! (This may be the cheapest item you can purchase for your audi at the dealer!)

My tool kit was missing this plus other things. Picked up this tool on the cheap at WaterFest. I think $2. It is held in place here. *This tool isnt for the the center cap..those just pop out from the rear.
