the mirror on the right side of my car is smaller than the mirror on the left side of my car?
I've always wondered..

Because people walking on the sidewalk in Europe would knock over the longer so they went with smaller ones.

Don't people in Europe drive on the left side of the road...so they would parallel park on the left side, leaving the driver's side facing the sidewalk.

You legally don't even need a passenger side mirror.. Also, any RHD A4 would have the stubby on our drivers side, which would face the sidewalk in their case.

I read somewhere that this was the reason i never thought about that lol

Only the UK and Ireland drive on the left. Continental Europe all drives on the right side. Its mostly old British colonies that are left hand traffic only.

IDK why. But I love the stubby mirror, if I could get a stubby mirror for the other side from the UK, I would tottally rock that shit.

Same here, i got a full custom paint job and added all the OEM S4 bits (bumper, rear valence, sides) and left my stubby. People give me hell about it.

Just like how the early US spec A4s have a EuroTrunk.. just a part that was carried over for a couple years.

Fair enough. I'm glad a part of it came on my car :)

Not sure if they exist. Finding one would be nice, wonder how hard it would be to find replacement glass for it should it ever break....

I'm almost positive the stubby mirror for the left side just doesn't exist. Some Audi guy from Europe posted on here about how all the A4's in Europe always had symmetrical mirrors (both sides were the large size for all production years). And judging by the fact that no one has ever seen one, I pretty much believe that. If they did exist, ECS would be selling the CRAP out of those things.

big mirror for the driver side cause its the only one important. you dont need a passenger side mirror like the good old days. My brother 97 had it like that :D ppl always said wtf lmao

zrowcool

larger blind spot on the driver side so the mirror on the driver side is larger. passenger side has a much smaller blind spot since you can turn your head without knocking into the b-pillar. and about it being legal to not have a passenger mirror - it would only be legal if the vehicle never came equipped with it from the manufacturer.

Yeah but depending where you are in Europe, you drive sitting on the other side of your car. Which is why most of us are asking the question "Maybe in Europe they have the left side stubby?"

FYI guys that driver mirror is a normal one, just with a picture that shows the wrong size. Compare the passenger dimensions and the drivers on that site; 7.5" for the passenger, 10" for driver.

Those bastards. But it must exist considering they have a pic of left side stubby. Its not simply a matter of flipping images. The search continues

I thought you only needed a "rear view mirror", in whatever form.

idk if anyone remembers cars from prior 70's cars were only required to have only 1 mirror on the outside either it be on the driver side or the passenger side

YES! Cult Society, that's who I was talking about.
