Problem started about 1 week ago. I go to start the car and it cranks and cranks but never even attempts to start. So I wait about 2 minutes and try again and its fine. Next day same thing happens but about 2 minutes into my drive it shuts off while in gear, so i push the clutch in and turn the ignition off and pull over. Go to start it back up and it cranks and cranks, after 2 minutes it starts again. This has been going on for days and today I pulled 11 error codes with the VAG.

11 Faults Found:

18084 - EPC Warning Lamp (K132) Circuit: Electrical Malfunction
P1676 - 35-00 - -
17521 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B1 S1: Internal Resistance too High

16496 - Intake Air Temp. Sensor (G42): Signal too Low
P0112 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16490 - Manifold / Barometric Pressure Sensor (G71) / (F96): Implausible Signal
P0106 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17881 - EVAP Leak Detection Pump: Open Circuit
P1473 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Readiness: 0010 0101

Any input at all would be greatly appreciated. My thought is that it is either the ECU or the throttle body.

The car is a 2000 1.8TQM BTW

This might be the cause of the rest of the problems. how old is your battery what does your alternator gauge read and have you checked for bad\frayed wires?

Did you clear them and see which ones come back. Looks like lightening hit your car (j/k).

I'd clear them first before worrying about any of them. Making sure the battery and alternator are ok is a good idea, though. Just see what the voltmeter on the dash says with key on, during cranking, and during idling.

usually i have 15v during everything, idle, cranking, you name it. battery is fine i have not had it die and it always has plenty of power to sit there and crank the car for a while till i get it to start.

Had the exact same issue last week. Trouble cranking in the morning. Waited 20minutes and started right up. Voltmeter said more than 12V but found out the battery didn't have enough amps to get the car started. New battery fixed the problem.

The car will crank for a long time though, it just never fires. And that does not explain the cutting out once it starts either.
