Hi, I'm purchasing (another) new set of winters for my B8 and have chosen 18x8.5" wheels.....will 225's fit on these or would this be too much of a stretch. Tirerack "suggests" 245/40 but I'm sure that's because it's stock sizing and not necessarily all the options that what would fit.
BTW...the tire I want to run is 225/45/18 (narrower) which is very close (0.2% diff) compared to stock 255/35/19 circumference.

As long as you use an XL or reinforced tire, 225/45R18 is fine but the 8.5" is the max it will fit on so the sidewalls will be flush with the face of the wheel for reference/

thanks for the info Doc....just ordered a set of wheels and Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3's in 225/45/18's (95V XL)
