Posted in another thread in b5 s4/rs4 side since i got some info from there. Hopefully you guys find this useful. I have a 01 a4 1.8tq avant.

Bought some used Corbeau CR1's in red cloth w/ submarine belt hole. My leatherette (a4) was cracking/tore and I decided I'd go for an inexpensive upgrade. Didn't care about airbag light. Paid $300 local for the seats, $212 shipped for the brackets, and $2 for longer (4) 10mm head 1.25 x 20mm bolts. The (4) 10mm head 1.25 x 15mm bolts that came with the brackets were not long enough to reach the other side to clamp onto the guides. Corbeau gets their hardware from home depot. Bolts were the same. Total = $514

Instructions say to first install bracket to seat. I suggest you install the bracket first, then the seat. It's a pita to get under and tighten the bracket while the seat is on. I ended up taking the seat off to install the brackets. I highly suggest you buy the brackets from Corbeau.

They seats fit great. I'm 6'3, 190 and my balls aren't smashed. If you are bigger, get the wide. I was able to extend my legs all the way and lock them out with the seat all the way back. See the picture below with my sexy thigh muscles and distance between the gas pedal and my foot.

Only issue that was a problem was the backing of the seat. There is a metal bar that runs along the lower part of the back and was annoying as hell. I didn't want to spend another $50 for the corbeau lumbar support and wait a week. So I took some 6/32 thick corrugated plastic board (stuff to make posters) and cut it to the size of the back, narrow to stay within the bolsters, and short enough to be right below the top belt holes. Since I had cloth, everything was velcro. So the plastic board slipped right in. The board allowed for a more rounded support around the metal bar and flex to keep contour with the seat.

I come to find out that Corbeau also offers replacement covers. $189 for the microfiber and less for the cloth. Good to know. Aight, enough with me yapping away. On with the pics.....

I like the seats themselves, but not a fan of the color.
