View Full Version : Broken Window

Well... My window gave up the other day. I own a 2001 S4. I rolled it down, when I went to roll it up I heard an audible "chunk" and heard pieces fall in the door. I pulled of the door panel and found this:

I zip-tied the window up quickly and didn't look to see if the other one broke (the pictured bit is from the front).

Questions:

1. Is it possible to just buy the plastic piece?
2. If so, where is the best place to buy?
3. If not, is part number 8D0837461 (http://www.autohausaz.com/secure/PartImages/8D0837461.jpg) the correct part?
4. If 8D0837461 is the correct part, how does $141 sound for it?

Thank you in advance,

Chris

You can't buy just the green piece, you would have to buy the whole window regulator. I broke mine also and replaced the whole thing myself ( pain in the a$$). Here's the link http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B5_S4--2.7T/Interior/Window/ . It's cheaper here.

Ask someone with a part out.

You can actually buy a similar piece off an a6 and mod it to fit. PN: 4B0-873-463-A or 4B0-837-463. They cost around $5-7 off dealer. pm if you need help.

Here are guide and references to the fix.

First link isn't working for me - I'd love to read more on this.

And yes, 8D0837461 (http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/8D0837461/?salesrep=PWinegardner&utm_source=audizine&utm_medium=forum&utm_content=PWinegardner&utm_campaign=postreply)is the correct part number for the left front regulator.

passatworl link isnt working for me either, i ghave a window that shifts position and gets stuck in the track. i took it apart and it looks like the green clips are worn. i would love to figure out a repair without changing the entire regulator.

Nice! Added it to my DIY list - has anyone tried this on a B5 A4?

Thanks. What was so difficult about it?

I done this to my 97 and 00 a4. It was lot easier to replace the clip itself then the whole window regulator. Been 4 years already and i have no problem. The OEM clip for our car are junk!! just look at the comparison and you will see the difference.
