ok so during the my car (2000 a4 1.8t quattro 5 speed) started to have clutch problems. the engagement point of the clutch started to change from engaging normally to engaging through the entire travel of the pedal and sometimes it would engage at about an inch from the floor. the car was taken to a local audi specialist and the problem was diagnosed as a clutch slave cylinder, well we would have had them do the work but it was the day before eurowerks and that couldnt be missed so we bought the slave through them as well as a master just for good measure and installed it. after bleeding it it drove pretty good for a little bit and then later that day the engagement point started being goofy again. so i drove it home after dropping my friend off and it completely stopped being weird and drove like a normal clutch. a month later i couldn't disengage the clutch what soever so it was again brought to the specialist where they bleed the whole system and said that the trans would need to be dropped. they also said that the clutch fork seemed spongy when it was pushed. so the car was driven home, it would barely disengage and the shop is only a mile away so it was kept in second. but on the way home something clicked and it drove totally normal for like 5 min, so i drove it around alittle and parked it when i went back it wouldn't disengage any more. so my question is has anyone ever seen something like this happen before? does anyone have any ideas on the cause? any help would be very much appreciated

sounds like the material separated from the clutch disk or the throw out bearing. hope you got some money saved.
