BTW car was throwing Lean Fuel Mix code wanted to say it was the damn o2 sensor, thought it was the MAF, but that was working fine, not a Vacuum leak checked for that hahaha it was the o2 sensor too bad i just found out and advance auto parts doesnt have the o2 sensor listed correctly anyone with a 2001 audi a4 needs the passat sensor that is 5 wire not the 4 wire one they dont even show it as compatible.

My dip stick did that too. Went to the dealer and I had to buy both male & female parts of the dip stick assembly. Updated part or something.

Thanks for the Info on the sensor. I keep getting a lean code to but I didn't clean the maf yet. If it persists. I will definitely buy a new 02 sensor

Wasnt the MAF but as soon as i pulled the MAF, cleaned it and put it back in the car threw 4 codes MAF high input, o2 sensor, lean fuel mix, and one other i forget but i vag-com'd it and it was the o2 sensor just look at your numbers and it will tell you what is bad ps bought the car for 6600 and it had 79,000 on it 5 speed 1.8t fronttrak though

Does the car run good? You can unplug the MAF and see if it drives better. If it does, replace the MAF!!
I replaced mine with a audi reman that I pulled from the junkyard (looked brand new with all the stickers etc..) for $20.. :)

Already replaced the MAF and replaced the o2 sensor its not a vacuum leak so where do i go from there fuel injectors? no performance change that i notice very smooth idle so smooth i cant tell if my car is turned on???

Check for boost/vacuum leaks. GL

If you check the code with vag-com it will tell you if the lean code is additive (idle) or multiplicative (part throttle). Basically whether you have vacuum leak or a bad MAF. You can also use vag-com to check out the long term fuel trims and log the MAF. This gives you a lot more info to work with to pinpoint your problem. That way you don't replace expensive parts that aren't bad.
