ABS module failure .. the electronic part, you can get serviced or get from ECS they have specials right now on complete ABS units with pumps

Thanks for the love, audifirst. What you have appears to be what has been said already - an ABS module failure. Here is a great DIY (http://audi-diy.blogspot.com/2007/10/audi-a4-b5-abs-controllerpump-repair.html) on troubleshooting your dash lights and, if the problem does appear to be an ABS module failure, replacing the faulty unit. As far as purchasing a new unit, we currently have a killer deal on our B5 A4 ABS pump/control unit. As far as your VAG-COM problem, one of two things come to mind. First - do you have an aftermarket stereo in your car? Your radio harness may be interfering with VAG-COM operation. Secondly - your ABS module may be so far hosed that it simply can no longer read it.

You cant read your engine module because your abs module is hosed.

just unhook the module and it will let you right in

wow the other day it read the engine module but not the abs module. noe it won't read the engine module and the car won't start engine cranks but won't start.
