B7 - New suspension???

I just purchased a B6, which I LOVE, but I was hoping that the B7's wouldn't be a completely new car.
Maybe a slightly bigger engine and new looks.

But I just watched a news broadcast that said the entire suspension has been upgraded also!!! Does anyone second this, or were they blowing smoke?

And will this apply to the S4 B7's also?

The looks will take a little getting used to but it's looking like a superior car....are they quite a bit more expensive? Please tell me yes - I'm trying to justlfy not waiting!

I just talked to an audi dealer yesterday.. He said the B7 A4 will have almost the same suspension as the b5 S4 did.

he prolly meant B6 S4, since the B5's rear suspension is a totally different design from the B6's.

It looks all the same to me, the shocks and springs are different part numbers. It does not seem to handle any different than my B6. It still has the 31mm front sway bar and the 18mm rear sway bar. All the components look the same

It is not a new suspension. It is the same as the A4 or the S4 except that there is one component on the S4's rear suspension that is beefed up compared to the A4. The B7 will have this component, the beefed up one. I can't recall which part it is, but perhaps it is the lower arm.

I realize this is the A4 forum, but has any one heard about the S4 changes (minus the obvious body changes)?

Aside from the body style change, I'm almost 100% sure that on the technical side it is the same. Maybe a few more interior options but that's it.

The B5 S4 front brakes are on the B7 A4. I talked to the suspension guru at Audi AG ..he said it is all different...I don't know if he just meant that there were different spring rates..or different dampers..his english was not so good...so it was hard to understand much. His life is hard...go to Nurburing...go to this other track in Spain...repeat...tough life.

yea im pretty sure that the B7's suspension is completely different than the B6's. At least thats what the salesguy said.
