I just got my VAG COM cable today, and was looking through the settings. Unfortunately, it looks like I might have messed up, because once I started up the car, I got the adaptive headlight error icon shown here:
http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/vv142/arvinder03/Audi%20Light/photo.jpg

I scanned for codes, and I received the 1539 code, headlight not adjusted. Went through the steps outlined in this link, http://www.a4mods.com/index.php?page=webcontent/pages/autolevel.html

Basic settings show the same error as shown in the guide above, and so I tried to reset to factory defaults. But that didn't work either.
The only possible reason I could find was that the voltages in group 2 are coming up as undefined as seen in the screenshot below.

I have not detached the headlight/bumper in any way, and I have not lowered the car in any way.
Please help?

Hmmm between me taking this screenshot and posting this message, the screen changed to the following:

Should I be cross-posting this elsewhere? I'm really stuck with this issue, guys.

I believe your headlight is stuck in the "adjust" mode.
Steps:
1. Xenon range control in VCDS
2. Press the "GO" button beside Group 001
3. Wait about 10 seconds
4. Press the "ON/OFF/Next" button once (you will see the word adjust) you can now adjust your lights if need be.
5. Press the "ON/OFF/Next" one more time, so that you xenon CM (control module) can learn the new setting.
6. Press "Done, Go Back"
7. Clear the code

Be sure to post up your results, so that other members with similar issues can use this thread as a point of reference.

Thank you Airborne! This seems to have worked for me :). Somehow, there was no mention of ON/OFF/Next anywhere I looked.

Back to fooling around with VAG COM :)
