Right, It has the beige interior too. There were to different shades of beige, I'm not sure which I have. It's light but doesn't look to white.
I used to have an '05 B6 A4 Avant too, 1.8 Turbo Quattro, Moro Blue/Black with Sport and Leather Package AND A 6 SPEED! I miss that car...

When will your ordered Avant be here?? That is gonna be very nice in Suzuka Grey!

1st week of December... It seems like it has taken forever b/c the dealer supposedly had to receive an allocation to even order the car which took about 6 weeks and then another 3 months for the car to be built and shipped to the dealer.

I already purchased KW Variant 3 coilovers, pulled the trigger on DPE SP-SC16 wheels today, and would like to buy an RS6 front grill. The only other thing that I plan to do is either a Stasis or APR tune, exhaust, and maybe ditch the wood trim for a set from oCarbon.

Nice wheels!

Thanks everybody! Thanks Bryzf1. I don't bottom the suspension, it's way to stiff. I think I would have to jump a speed bump to get it close. But I do rub, especially in the back with the car loaded. But I haven't trimmed the fender liner yet. After a bit of trimming it will clear beautifully. It couldn't be any tighter in the rear. I don't think you can go this low with ET 41, not with a 265 tire. You'll need 245, 255 max IMO. White isn't wasn't a real popular color for cars here until recently. Years ago you'd never see a Audi, Benz or Beemer in white, silver was kinda rare too. It seems they're mostly shades of gray or black with the occasional blue RS and red M3s. It gets a lot of looks that's for sure.

bryzf1
10-16-2010, 02:53 PM
I ordered some 255/30 and I will most likely have the fenders rolled to be on the safe side.

nedrager
10-16-2010, 03:01 PM
You can roll what little lip the front has. There is no lip in the rear. Worse case you can hammer down part of the inner fender metal in the rear after trimming the liner, you might get a cm extra clearance. Those wheels and that color should look sick dropped, hope to see pics soon...

I'm taking it to a shop that specializes in suspension etc so I'm confident that they'll get me setup. I didn't realize that there is essentially no lip in the rear!

I ordered the wheels yesterday so they should be here by the time the car gets to the dealer the first week of December.

It doesn't look super low... I'm sure if it was raised much higher it would look like a 4x4 w/ the 20's on there. IMO it's perfect

Thanks all for the kind words.

I don't think you can go any lower than I am and still drive it practically. I have to be careful pulling up to parking curbs, I clear some but not others. It does rub in the back but just the slightest bit on the fender liner. After A little trimming it should clear easily. I'm sure I could raise the car 3/4 or 1 inch and it would still look good but... I wanted it low. I'll have to take a pic with the factory 18s on, you can tell how dramatic the drop really is. I had the standard suspension and I went down between 65 and 70mm easily if not more than that.

So those are 20s, 20x8.5? Are they replicas or OE? Just ask because if they Reps, wondering if you noticed much difference in ride, handling, power? I know a jump to 20's always has some affect but Reps are considered heavy so just wanted to get your take. I think they look great.

20x9 Replicas. I don't know the weight but they not much heavier, if at all, than my factory 18s. I'm running a 265/30 Michelin Pilot Sports. It's a 3.2, I have a sportbike and a supermoto for "performance".

I have the euro version of the H&Rs, they're stiff. It rides like a taunt sports car and handles like a giant go cart. It's razor sharp handling but I need a rear sway bar to help the initial turn in.

Thanks Bryan. I wasn't looking for a photo op. I had just walked out of the gym, coming down some steps to the road. I thought it looked pretty wicked like it's almost glowing against the dark background.

Not sure how I am feeling the chrome mirror covers. They do pick up the other chrome on the car (door handle strips and Window trim), but I think it gets lost against the white of the car. Just my opinion though and you know what they say about those......

With the long front overhang, and the car that low, you gotta be scraping the front end going in and out of that brick driveway.

With the long front overhang, and the car that low, you gotta be scraping the front end going in and out of that brick driveway.

Currently the driveway, speedbumps, parking curbs, etc aren't an issue at all. The car looks a lot lower than it is. I'm going to tape the front spoiler in place and see what kind of clearance I have. If I can't get out of the driveway then it'll get sold. We'll see...

Almost forgot, full LED tails. Mine started to fault, these are not plug and play, you need a VAGCOM and some idea what you're doing with the coding. It's not hard if your comfortable doing recodes already. Everything works, but you end up with fog lights on both sides. They have amber blinkers and dual reverse lights too. The factory euro versions have 1 fog and 1 reverse light with the amber blinkers. These are much cheaper.

I didn't realize that the park assist module was that easy to install. It took longer to boot up my netbook for the VAGCOM recode. Awesome! I'm lovin' the display!

Details on the parking module?

We both had original/outdated parking modules and we had to physically swap in updated version so we could get a graphic on the display (not just beeping) when reversing.

Except in my case I discovered my two center sensors are out. I only have the sides at the moment, replacements should be here Monday. Hope the install is pretty straight forward...
