I recently upgraded my hood to a CF hood because my girlfriend ran into my mailbox and put a pretty good size dent in the hood. Overall the hood is in pretty good condition, it just looks like some1 took a baseball bat at half speed and put it to the hood. Now its just sitting in my living room and I'm wondering what I should do about it, can i sell it on ebay or could i just bring it to a junk yard? What would you guys do with it? A body shop quoted me at like 250$ to fix the hood so should i fix it and try to sell it? Around how much do you think I could get for it in the condition its in? How bout if i get it fixed?

Haha girlfriends really blow when it comes to cars lol, we should ban them from driving or being near our cars :P glad to hear I'm not the only 1 that has suffered from our girlfriends stupidness. Any1 else ran into this predicament and had any luck getting a little profit on the old beat up hood?

ya girlfriends do blow a lot :D

honestly, depends how big the dent is, if it's massive doubt it will sell for much. Maybe $50? $100?

pics?

Other than what you see, the hood is in perfect condition, no real scratches

well that just blows lol oh well i guess Ill just keep it as a house ornament for now, I'm surprised some1 wouldnt want to buy it to carbon fiber it out and resell for a profit, but then again it wouldnt be all CF and wouldnt be as light, defeating the purpose of CF lol. I dont really know where I'm going with this post...

well, they could do that...maybe you find a company looking to make a mold of a stock hood and they buy it for you...doubt anyone going to buy it to have it cf'd, maybe they could use as a test hood for a custom mod?

put on ebay, start off at $50.

That's about 2 hours of dent pulling/bondo work. It might be worth repairing and trying to resell, depending on if you repair it or have a friend who can do it cheap. Do some research on how much used hoods go for to help you decide. GL!

The pics dont do it justice, looks much better in person because of the way the light reflects off the fibers.

I'm probly going to get some quotes on how much it'll be to get it fixed, get some quotes on shipping across the US, and weigh out my options, I'm in no rush to sell so I'll see what I can muster up lol. If you guys here want to buy or know of any1 else that may be interested in something like this, hit me up and we can probly work something out.

I like the fact with the CF that half the time, you can't even tell that the hood is CF in the right lighting but in other lighting, the CF sticks out alot. Makes me smile every time i see it :P

Not sure if i like the contrast of the cf...don kno...anyway, make that hood a project of some sort, try doing something, or use it as a table!

I think you should keep it for house/yard/garage art. Fuck with it yourself. Teach yourself how to do body work. Paint work. Make some fun for the neighborhood kids. For me, $50 isn't worth the hassle of ebay and shipping. Expecially ebay's fees. Hate those MFs.

I guess $20 is $20, but looks like an oppertunity to be creative to me.

You should either paint and color match the CF, or put some Fast and Furious stickers on the rest of your car to complete the theme. [rolleyes]
