I'll be doing a custom fmic setup for a 28rs. I was wondering what size core and plumbing to go with. I know what size will work BUT I was going for a certain look. I want to have the plumbing to stick through the Grills next to the fog likes.

I believe I've seen a white a4 on here with Orange wheels have this setup. What size core and plumbing do I need? If there is a post explaining this setup then please excuse me and post it. Im without the internet and doing everything through my phone.

Thanks

function over fashion my friend. i dont know if it's set in stone, but from what i've read although it may not be necessary its good to match your compressor outlet size, and then on the other side make the size .25" bigger diameter. IE my outlet is 2" so i have 2" on the compressor side, and on the other side of the FMIC i have 2.25" going into the TB

I'll be going no smaller than 2.25 but was wondering more the angle pieces from the inlet and outlet to have them sticking out the bumper. If they are too Sharp that they restrict air flow that much then I won't do it.

2.25" hot side, 2.5" cold side.

if you want the plumbing to stick out then u need to get a universal plumbing kit off ebay, if u want a clean look, then you want the plumbing thats pre bent and formed for the b5 to fit behind the bumper

Viceprp, the car you would be recollecting on is mine, or was, ha. But what specifics are you looking for/what photos? I'm sure I have the specs and photos still on my hd somewhere.

I'm looking for some specifics on the piping used (eBay kit), what angles that were used to get this look. Pics would be great! Did you notice any performance lose from this setup?

On another note, karma will get back at you bud. You did a great thing for your family.

What core do you plan on using? I am going the same route and have been doing a lot of search for a suitable intercooler...............that fits behind the stock bumper while retaining all grill inserts and fog lights.

I used an ebay kit called "JDM Sport" with 2.5" piping. I believe the core was 27"x8"x2.5" but dont quote me on that.

As for the piping, it was all eyed and made to fit. but here are some images of the initial piping, the piping without the bumper on, and the new route I ended up going. In the new route, to get the grilles back on and enough space to run fogs on a facelift, take the photo where I show the piping and then just cut the length in half on the piping running off the end tanks.
