how much of the stock air intake system will be taken out with a new cone filter system??

08-13-2010, 08:44 PM
most of it.

is this on a 1.8T or 2.8?

Is that even worth it? I thought cone air systems caused problems? Something about the secondary air pump and that a drop in K&N or AEM DryFlo would be better.

its on a 1.8t , ive herd of k&n being popular as well

unless the CAI is being installed with something bigger than a k04, don't worry about it. the stock intake flows just enough.

ive hard the stock intake can take up to 300hp.

check out the a4wiki for more info...

is there a way to maybe take the stock one out and clean it real well?? i have no experience with ripping stuff out of cars, and only have no tools

just replace the filter with and OEM one, they ant very expensive, K&N filters can cause issues with the maf buy getting oil on it

I like K&N, never had a problem with my MAF on my 3000GT. Although I spray that MAF cleaner everytime I clean the filter.

a cone filter will open up th system better for good straight flow. They sound great too when you release the gas
