I have an Chriss Tapp ECU on 97" AEB engine. i can choose between 93oct and Race gas. But what kind of octane should be use on Race gas file? Im from norway and 93oct in the USA is the same as 98oct here. And we also have ethanol gas here, 105 oct. Could this be used on the race gas file? or should that be higher oct? I dont know what 105oct would be in the US either.

Here in the US E85 is about 105oct but it has a big cooling effect so it really mimics the leaded race fuels quite well. I don't think you would be able to use E85 on your race gas file though because you would need considerably more fuel (roughly 30%) for E85. To give you an idea of the fueling you would need I'm running 1260cc injectors and a walbro>bosch 044 fuel pump to keep up with my needs on E85.

A friend had a tapp 630cc ecu file in his 99 a4 and it was C16 for the race file when he flipped the switch sticking out of the side of the ecu.

I know E85 use more fuel, and as you say, it cooles much better then regular gas, if my race gas file is suppose to use C16 i guess i wont give enough fuel if i try to use E85? C16 doesent need as much fuel as the E85?
