I sort of screwed up a little, I bought my 2007 s8 from a dealer, and thier service tech got his greasy paws all over manifold. I ofcourse decided to carefully spray a little degreaser on a very warm engine. I kind of discolored the aluminum-looks whitish.....is there anything I can do to polish it up?

I hope this works, 3 pics of the grease/dirt on manifold, and the "clouding on the manifold"

Try something like a clay bar or even some rubbing alcohol.

the claybar wont work on that surface. I would try the rubbing alcohol first and if that doesnt work, then a mild soap such as Dawn.

Ty I guess less water in engine compartment better, right?

yes you need to avoid getting water all over the motor as much as possible. especially the coilpacks. they are extremely sensitive to water. i would use a wet rag to wipe away any soap resisdue
