I am giving my engine bay some love and my 97 never came with the raintray cover (i don't think any pre-facelift A4s did). So my question is; will a facelift raintray cover fit, I need to know for sure as I don't want to waste cash on something that will not work.

Second, I know there is a driver side engine cover off a B5.5 Passat (I think), which fits our cars. Anybody have a source/link for that?

you need facelift cowl covers, both of them before it fits right. and i hope you werent trying to buy new geoff... Audi sold out of them months ago. I bought the last 3.

I would send a PM to Greg@DTH. He can answer your questions as well as get you these items at maybe the best prices you will find.

facelift cowl covers to make the raintray cover fit, or the driver side engine cover? i am more concerned with the raintray cover, that area is ugly.

what pieces are the cowl covers anyway?

ps-i cleaned my bay today, yay!

cowl covers = the 2 pieces that are below the windshield.. also known as rain trays..

greg just orders from Audi.. if audi stopped making them, which they did.. then unless he bought stock, there are none.

GL getting one. I think nic has one that has acouple marks where it hit the hood.. you could always respray it black as they fade easily and it will look new.

assuming i manage to find this stuff, will the facelift raintray fit my car?

yeah it fits.. but to get the battery covery/firewall cover and rain trays to all fit together, you need all facelift parts. (i.e. 2 facelift rain trays, then obviously the facelift firewall cover/battery cover.. your stock rubber firewall seal will work though)

Yeah rain trays you can get off any face lift a4 or a s4. Bobby helped piece mine together, you just got to find the stuff from people parting there cars. Think I paid like $15 dollars for mine, its not in perfect shape, but better than nothing at all.

From where? When you go into the dealership here and look up parts, it lists 1 warehouse in CAnada, at least it does at our local shop. It also shows a vew across the country. Now when I bought mine, nics and a spare, it was the last 3 the computer showed, but there were 150 in a warehouse and it was explained that "they were untouchable until audi decides if they are going to release them, or destroy them, but right now they can not be touch" and a goodfriend of mine is my dealer hookup. Maybe they released them, or Canada has some more warehouses that dont show up on the computers here.

Any which way, congrats on getting them.

its not the dealer, its a 3rd party OEM distributor (to the best of my knowledge)

ps, that warehouse is about 5 minutes form my house :)

battery cover: 8D1 819 447 A
left cowl cover: 8D1 819 401 01C
