Wow pricey around 800-900. Took me a little while to find one, from what I read its cause of the diffuser in the rear bumper of the a8? I know a guy who custom installed a hitch that didnt even go on his car because he couldn't find one so I'm sure you can install one no matter what if you know what your doing.

I might end up just making one. That is way to much coin for $30 in materials. I got up under the car and looked at places to mount, I see a few options I could use to secure it properly to the vehicle.

your right, along with shipping its really alot of loot. There was another article that a person wrote said "local u-haul could install one." Anyway one of my friends has a few Audi's and he has pulled some heavy weight on a not so smooth pulling looking trailer that is fabbed to his early to mid eighties quattro.

I might give them a call. I would be willing to pay up to $200 for a hitch, anything more I can't justify and will build something myself, so basically $200 is what my time is worth haha.

Lol. I salute you sir. I just ordered yakima roof rack and a ladder accessory kit..:.drumroll....$230.00 shipped, though I could have saved another $57.00 if I fabbed my own ladder securing device which I should have done, but i need to install this cct.

just remember if your drilling through aluminum, and putting a steel mounting bolt in there, get the spray can of protectant for sacrificial corrosion, because the aluminum will break down. dont forget also that aluminum is soft and tears quite easily. but im also looking into desining a hitch that requires no drilling.

Exactly...

The aluminum still has plenty of strength. You just need to put a few trusses in. I've already started the design of it and it will mount via 3 main locations. I don't see a non bolton one fitting from getting under there...
