So I spent about 2.5 hours today on my trunk. I had been borrowing a trunk since I sold my euro lid for the last few months until I was able to retrieve my lid from my pops office. It had been sitting in storage for the last 2 years.
I started with a 2 bucket wash, twice...

Here's a few before clay bar after I reinstalled the lid on the car.

Contaminants on top layer. I spent quite a bit of time claying to get it clean. This lid had so much dirt built up.

I went through a 3 step cut-n-buff. I started with a medium cutting pad, then went with a polish pad then finesse pad and finished off with a hand application coat of wax. I used Meguiars SwirlX for the DA and then black bottle Meguiars for hand.
You get the idea how it started so here's the final.

It didn't have a ton or swirls to begin with, mostly built up dirt, light abrasions and various other imperfections ranging from sap to bird poo stains. Most blemishes came out minus one particular bird poo stain which appears to have eaten through a portion of the clear coat, but not completely and judging by eye I avoided to much cut time in that location to avoid running through the last bit of clear that is there. Good thing it's not very noticeable and in an odd location. Well that's my trunk-n-buff haha. I'm very pleased with the results. I'm still extremely please how well the swirlX works for my particular application. For being a consumer grade product I have zero complaints about it.
