We do not like to say that they last longer, but they are certainly more durable and can take more abuse/give you more time if some other piece of the timing system were to go bad

The only real way to prove the Kevlar belts last longer is to drive it till it basically snaps. I don't know anybody who would personally want to be the test guy for that[drive]. But they are def built stronger, so theoretically should last longer. But RAI can't really say that, because it very much could be false advertisement, to the point the belt could snap just like another when pushed too far and there could be a law suit.

So if my car is stock and I don't really beat on it, is there any point in upgrading to the kevlar belt vs the normal belt?

absolutely, there has been enough failures of the oem belt that audi did in fact do a recall for only the TT, even though it is still the same belt on all other models. When the manufacturer says there crap you know they are crap.

So does this fit the AWM Im not sure if my 01.5 has a vin split?

I got a OEM belt but im thinking about upgrading to kevlar when I finally do my rods
