Hello everyone,
I am new to A4's. Just picked up an 06 2.0t 6mt. Love driving it, absolutely wonderful. Silver with black interior.

I have been reading around this forum for tips and tricks for general maintenance and of course for some extra power.

there seems to be a lot of debate between getting and APR chip or a GIAC chip. I will be getting one or the other, just wondering if anybody knows if you can get a trial software on the GIAC? Everyone I speak to says APR is smoother but GIAC has more boost.....Idk which one I should get.

Thanks everyone

PS; I have no clue how to post a picture of my car

Update: Just figured it out...i think...http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/3350/dsc00475js.jpg

There's also REVO, and unitronic, and several other companies. APR, GIAC, and REVO are the big 3 around here.

So for driving wise, which one does everyone go with? I still want to keep factory like feel(if thats possible) but just have more oommphh

Welcome!

I've been running APR for my last two audi's and have been very satisfied. Never had any problems whatsoever with them, APR is feels like factory smooth but definitely more ooomphh that you're asking about. But basically either company you choose to go with you'll be happy.

Awesome. As long as nobody has any complaints about their chips I think im going to go with APR, since they are close to me.

Yea, that's mainly why I went with them the first time too.

Sweet man, you won't be disappointed!

APR lets you change tunes via the cruise control stalk, very handy.

i went with APR because you can set it from 91 octane to 93 octane to 100 octane all by your cruise control stalk. you can also have it set back to stock temporarily using the cruise control stalk incase you're going into your dealer and are worried about your warranty or something.
