Hi I might be purchasing some 18x8 rims et43. I have a 2001 B5 so my current wheel size is 16x7 if I'm not mistaken, with offset 45 which means I would need about 10mm spacers to clear arms with the new wheels.

My questions are as follows:

1) Is 10mm sufficient to clear?

2) I need top of the line lugs and spacers. What brands are top notch? I don't want my rims to fall off on the freeway!

Thanks

I have a 2001 A4 and I clear 18x8 ET 43 ultrasport wheels with 235/45/18. No spacers necessary GL

Thanks! Do your wheels sit flush with the wheel well?

I would still like to know of a good brand in case later I want to place spacers.

Get a stud kit from 034 or another vendor on here. Done deal... And, makes tire mounting so much easier too.

Find long ones and you can run whatever spacers you ever want.

If you plan on staying with the lug bolts, you'll need 28mm + 10mm (for spacers) or atleast a 14x1.5 38mm lug bolt.

The stock size is 28mm and you add the spacer thickness to 28 to know what lug bolts you need to order.

ECStuning has 14x1.5 at 40mm for $13 for 5 lug bolts

call a shop (achtuning) and ask them, they will know the answer. the thing is, is that with wheels depending on brand they require different lugs regardless of spacers or not because the depth of the wheel itself where the bolts go differ from brand to brand. and also cone vs. ball seats. also spacer size is gonna depend on the tires your running also

and go with H&R for the spacers.

I run 19x8 et35 with 235/35/19 with 5mm spacers up front currently.

hope that helps, but its very hard to say what you need without knowing what you have

The lug bolt length is going to depend on the wheels. Not all wheels use the same lug bolt length. The thickness of the hub area of the wheel is not constant from wheel to wheel, (except for OE wheels), so you need to find out what bolts you use for the wheels first, before you add spacers.

We carry spacers from H&R, and bolts made in Germany from RAD, the best around. Feel free to contact us with any questions.

Well... I don't have them YET. Have been in contact with the owner and trying to set up a meeting time but he hasn't responded since my last email. Wish me luck!! I'll post pics if/when I get them.
