Guys,

After the success of the new bodywork and rear lamp install I now find myself wanting to remove the amber/orange side reflectors from my headlamps. I asked about this elsewhere and all I was told is that:

1) It's not easy.

2) It requires removal and "baking" of the headlamps!

Now the "not easy" part doesn't worry me too much as I'm very happy to spend as long as needed to do anything on the car. The "baking" thing, however, does have me a little nervous - especially as I've only just had them refurbished and clear coated!

Having never done anything like this before I thought I'd ask if someone who has experience doing it would like to lend a hand to help me out with it?

I can drive almost anywhere and will supply all food and drink (LOL!) required during the job.

Any thoughts or offers would be wonderful.

Cheers all,

Glyn

Great - thanks for the offer. Maybe you could PM me with your schedule and we could hook something up?

I'm pretty free most of the time these days,

Thanks again.

I noticed that some of the headlights made by Valeo can't be pryed apart... incase you can't... you can always resort to this.

I have done mine on a C5 S6, and it is not too bad, just getting the bastards out is the hard part. i have a heat gun, and pryed them apart with that. Too afraid to do the baking method. I am in the Inland Empire, Redlands/San Bernardino area if you want to come out this way, i can help you out, no charge, always looking to help out other 4 ringers. I have the stuff to resurface them as well if they need it.

Here is mine after the clear corner and resurface:

Thanks guys. That S6 looks sweet!

I'm going to look at the lights tomorrow and see how much of a pain in the arse (Brit spelling) it would be to tackle it.

Cheers all.

There is a write up, I will try and fine. The tricky part is that you do not know there is a little white raised piece that you have to pry them over to get them out, and you have to pull real hard, and scraes the shit out of you when it finally pops out, but you have to to get them out. Once you do one, then it is like riding a bike. My first one took an hour to get out, the second 10 minutes.
