Process took about a week working on it couple hrs a day. Materials rounded up to around 100. Fiberglass is nasty to work with to say the least.
And so it begins...

Making a mock up, so I can work on it out of the car

Strechy cloth= old underarmor that I used to play football in

First layer of glass

Few more layers of glass and sanded and dremeled

More sanding and bondo

Paint I decided it needed some color so I painted the inside with some spray paint I had left over from my surfboard project

Couple glory shots

Not bad working with these materials my first time. Thinking about maybe adding another layer of bondo to smooth out the imperfections. I was too lazy and I was really excited to hear it.
OMG it pounds in my audi, lil sealed 10inL7 doin werk[wrench]. Hits harder than my ported 12in alpine my last setup.[o_o] Bass is strong and very accurate! [drool]Anyone who says that kickers cant perform well in sealed box is gravely wrong![cool]

Actually if you look close the sub box is floating off the carpet so I can easily remove the carpet flooring to get to the spare. Also the box is fitted like a glove in the side with industrial Velcro holding it in place.
thanks guys[cool]

Nice girlfriend/wife/sister/daughter/hopefully not mother? Haha only kidding man.

Could certainly use some of the imperfections to clean it up? But if you're covering it matching trunk carpet (which would look good and you should totally do) Don't bother with the first statement lol.

Looks good man!! I'm also going to try to build a fiberglass box for my 2 12" W6. I still have to figure out how I want to build it though, since I don't want to obstruct the spare tire when I want to take out

You post up threads given the understanding that people will state their opinion about the topic. Given that, if it looks like shit - I am going to state it looks like shit.

Go find a little corner and contemplate this. Maybe, next time, you won't post up threads with the intention of not getting your feelings hurt.

I forgot to add pictures lol. Here's mine. It's meant for a preface. I haven't installed it yet. I will be getting a preface carpet for the drivers side then I will be dying everything black. If you look at the ear on the right side, that actually goes up and rests on the wheel well inside. Mine sits considerably more flush and will be running a 12" when I finally get off of my ass to do it lol.

Having it stick out that far, kinda defeats the purpose no?

I'm sure it still takes up less space. His sub requires a decent amount of space to work properly. One of those blew away my twin type r's. Im not much for beats these days but I plan to at least put something in that I can hear while doing 70 with the windows down lol.

No worries my feelings are not hurt.. I just put a lot of time and effort into this custom box.. So when you said "it looks like shit" My first reaction is "go fvck urself" or go eat a big bag of shit.. I was more excited to hear how it would sound then the looks, considering it will be in my trunk... It was also mentioned in prior posts that it was a work in progress... Also asked for input on whether to carpet it or not.. Have fun in your corner eatin your big bag of shit!

Kicker L7 requires 1 cufoot. For me, it Def does not defeat the purpose at all. I can throw all the boards through the back now without having to deal witha sub box. Plus I have my trunk back and can fit all my gear. Also on spirited drives, I dont have to get the cargo net out lol.. I love it!

I would of just filled a shoe box with cheese and glued it shut. The bass would of been killer! lol Nice work though! I would of never been able to pull that off lol

funny thing about fiberglass you learn so much on your first attempt that your second will be light years away from your 1st...
nice work and keep it up
