Long story short... The city is doing roadwork which FAILED to mark a huge hole followed by a nasty dip in the road. Im on modified shocks, with H&R race springs so I sit about 22.8 GTF, so without fair warning I hit it doing about 25 mph. It fucked up my pass front wheel, my control arm is bent, and my oil pan has a huge crack thus leaking oil everywhere. I was able to get the car home.

Now someone mentioned I could actually sue the city. I have the tow report and pics of this dirty ass pot hole..

Anyone can weigh in here? Just curious

As for suing the city/council I've heard of similar success in your region. And if there is no response or a "sorry we can't do anything" letter from the city. Find an attorney :)

You need the pan, gasket sealant.
To install it you need to unbolt the front subframe in order to be able to maneuver it in and out.
While you're in there, it would be worth cleaning the oil pickup tube screen.

or if you have a hoist...you can undo the motor mounts and lift the motor up to get clearance from the subframe....dont forget about the 2 hidden 10mm or i think 6mm allen in 2 holes toward the bell housing...you will need a light to see them up in there.

It's pretty much a P.I.T.A to change! set some time out, get a buddy and some pizza and get the unbolting

If you drop the subframe be sure to mark where it was, that way you can put it back in the same place.

My old post : http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?352525-Oil-pump-filter-and-pickup Post#14

also for some pics: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?131121-oil-pan-removal-help&highlight=oil+pump Post#19

Both are good for doing it from underneath. The bentley manual would have you lift the engine up instead of lower the subframe down.
