Does anyone know what the vent is for that is down the bottom of the rear storage compartments? You have to remove the trim to see it, but there is a vent that is about 2" x 4" (not sure if it is Avant specific or not) and sticks out about 1.5" or so.

I am wondering if I am going to run into problems if I take the part that sticks out off, if it is even possible to remove it without opening the vent fully to the outside. The thing I don't want to do is remove something that allows rain water to get into the trunk.

Thanks.

That's the vent that's supposed to let out the air when pressure in the "cockpit" gets to high? Like when you close the doors?
Mine makes a bad sound when the sub in the trunk plays so need to replace it...... Anyone know how?

I'm having an issue with the seals around the trunk vents in my allroad going bad. Water is now getting into the two side compartments where all the fuses and wires are. I'm going to reseal them and try out the area and see if any more water gets inside. Audi wanted $500 to replace the seals themselves.

It is in fact a vent so the doors and trunk can be closed. Also provides an exit for airflow when the blower is on
