So I realized that since buying my house I need to get a pickup. It sucks having to haul shit from Lowes (everytime I go its a $100+ visit...) anyways I was looking at a pickup. I don't know what I need. I want a long wheel base and a crew cab but at the same time I should get a small work truck. I was looking at the F150 and then the Toyotas but I don't know...anybody have reviews.

I love my 2007 F150. 4 doors, 6.5ft bed, and fully loaded. Pulls 10k lbs. I'll never not owe a truck again. Their just so handy to have. Best advice is to drive a few and find the one you like. We can go all day ford vs. chevy vs dodge. vs toyota..etc but it comes down to want you want it for. I wanted a nice family hauler, with all the options. Out of all of the ones I looked at, the Ford's had the nicest interior's. Mine is a Lariat. IMO Toyota, Nissan, and Dodge has the nastiest interiors. At least the older ones did.

And buy a lightly used...don't take the hit like I did for buying a brand new. I'm still paying for that mistake...

I've had a Tundra and a Tacoma and I loved them both. I've been looking at adding a truck to the family as well. I'm for sure going to go with a used Tundra. I just prefer Toyotas and love the new Tundras. It's all personal preference.

I have a 2000 F150 Lariat, coming up on 170k miles on it and it still runs great. It has hauled all kinds of crap, moved houses, moved construction equipment, great truck.

Well I'm a Mopar man and a diesel guy, so I say get a Ram 2500 diesel, what I'm getting after I get out of school and get a job.

but if you don't need to tow a house and only use it to move stuff a 1500 would work too. I personally would get a Ram or a Chevy/ GMC. I don't like Fords at all. Yes the King Ranch has a nice interior but it's a personal opinion on the company and the powerstroke.

so my options for you

Chevy 1500
or
Dodge 1500

Every dodge that my family has owned including uncles and everything have been complete POS. Our family is torn between Chevy and Ford. The ford's interior is more redefined and the guy from dirty jobs endorses them... ;p

I'm thinking of getting an F150 quad cab and then lowering it...I know but I hate the raised truck look.

don't lower it just get new shackles and eliminate the rake.. that would be RETARDED to drop a truck your using to haul stuff. You'd just be cutting into your travel room with all that weight.

and chevy makes better engine/tranny combos. Ford's interior is "nice" if you can call any american car manufacture's interior nice.

Just make sure you buy American, for the bitching we do about American passenger cars, they still do trucks better than anybody.

I would NEVER buy a dodge truck!

i owned one F150 and it was junk, I mean absolute piece of shit.

that being said, my business is on our 4th Silverado. Everyone we have kept for 150,000 miles +. The only issue we have had was on the 2500 model. Its transfer case went at 130,000. The others were/have been flawless.

buying myself a 1500 in the next 6 months or so.
