i have an A4 2.0T Quattro. I have 56,000kms on the car. also have APR Stage 1, Carbonio intake done. Now i have noticed from time to time that i have a little black cloud behind me when i punch the gas. It did this before i got the car chipped. any ideas one what i could be? i have not thrown any codes at all. just not right to be doing that when i drive it a little more rough. thought id ask around as im taking it on monday. i will set it back to stock and lock it out before taking in.

Mine does it too. I think it's just the car being a bit conservative and adding more fuel than it needs to prevent detonation. If you pay attention most new cars do it. I've seen it from lots of brand new stock cars of all makes when they really punch it.

This is fairly common with a software upgrade on our cars. Nothing to be worried about. Just keep those exhaust tips clean.

I'm going to take it in anyways... just to have it double checked. I'm switching program and locking it out. but the tips are so bloody black its brutal.. don't even know how i would go about cleaning them at this point.

Metal polish removes the soot pretty easily.

Exactly. I've had great luck with this.
