I tried to detail my car, but i am having hard time to detail parts of the car with the machine. For example, space between the license plate behind the trunk? Front bumper? Door handle? the window trims?
I was told, I can use hand, by what tool should i use? just the application pad?

For those areas, I always just use a MF towel and polish. Usually these small areas don't need a lot of correction, so that should do the trick.
What machine are you using? Did you remove the license plate? You should be able to hit the hard to reach areas to some extent with the machine with some careful manuevering but other than that, by hand.
Also you can just take care of finger nail marks underneath the door handle grab area with an application pad and compound, and then the same with the polish.

that is what 4 inch pads are for. work great with a pc and some m205 for a light cut high polish, or m105 with hand app.

I was going to say by hand, I use the polishin pal from Autogeek - mostly because my hand can lock up trying to pinch an app pad for too long.

I use the porter 7424, last time I was detailing the trunk and I can see the differences between the space I detailed by the manchine and the space that I did not get to!

yea tape off, everything you dont want to hit with the pc and use the 4 inch pads to really get in there and hand polish the corners of the angles you cant get to with your hands. You would be surprised how much you can get with the small pads.
