I was hoping to get some help. I have an 07 A4 2.0T with only an APR chip stage 1 with less than one month on the car and K&N Filter. Thursday driving home from work my engine light came on and feel like there is no power. Went to Vivid where i installed my chip and they cleared the code for me. Told me the code reads a boost leak and more than likely its the diverter valve because they go bad on our cars. I am buying a new diverter valve tom but I saw smoke two days ago and then again last night. Is that normal?? Its not a lot of smoke but u can kind of smell it inside at a light and i saw it a little when the lights are turned on at night. First Audi I have ever owned so some help would be really great.. thanks

well, you might be running rich (i think, im no expert on cars)
assuming that, a new DV would help

Ok well off the bat our cars are tuned to run a bit rich so expect black smoke to come out on WOT by default. A broken DV would not let you pass 8-9 pounds of boost but I'm assuming you do not have a boost gauge (hint to get one). My best bet would say it was the DV granted you only have a chip and Knn. You can get the new revision DV from the dealer or online or you can get Forge's DV and will be just as good. Start there, either way, you don't lose with a DV mod...

We're running a special on the revised 710D DV (http://www.europaparts.com/diverter-valve-06h145710d.html) while supplies last.

And yeah, I agree with pierranchis...a little smoke at WOT is normal. A lot (or if its whiteish blue) is another story

I am buying the revised DV tom and will go from there. I also didnt make it clear but the white smoke and the smell seem to be coming from the engine bay and not the exhaust. Any ideas?? I opened the hood and there was nothing but i can only see it at night from the fogs

Have you had your oil change done recently? Could there be a possibility of poor cleanliness underneath that could cause oil to be burned and create the smoke? If you can only see it at night because of the fogs then I doubt your issue is up top. Jack it up and take a look underneath or take it to a shop and get it looked at underneath and make sure everything is legit. Tipping a mechanic 20$ for a look along with an honest opinion is better than swiping a CC for thousands. Good luck!
