View Full Version : Rubbing on passenger rear only? Who else?

So in my earlier post, I mention that I get rubbing only on the passenger rear (rt side), and promptly had several others acknowledge that they too have this same exact problem. Including fellow UK AZer felondnd who has a right hand drive, but rubs only his left (passenger) rear!

Decided to see just how common this is (if at all) [confused].
Odd that it would be exclusive to that one suspension area, and wonder if anyone has dug into this...

Is it really that common?

Any idea what the weight distribution from left to right is on our cars?

peace,
vince

i used to rub, but i rolled my fenders and solved the problem.

it's common to rub, if you are very low.

Check your alignment and camber settings.

I had the same problem on my Avant and when they checked the settings the rear passenger side tire was 1 degree off for camber.

Check your alignment and camber settings.

Yup [up], on the schedule for Wednesday.... was just interested that two others complained of exact same issues.
Not enough takers to this post to think it is a common flaw.... I only hope the measurement is on the positive side, because I hate tire wear running Negative.

If only one side is rubbing, that just means you need to lower the other side more to even it out.

Amen.

I rub only in the passenger side. The shop that usually checks my car said it's a very comon thing in most of the cars.

I rub, not sure where but just recently when i put on my 19" 710's i noticed that the rear right passenger wheel is not totally flushed with the fender like the left side is. Its kinda odd cause the wheels have the same offset. To me it looks like the camber is more negative on that wheel then the other ones. Kinda weird but going to take it to an alignment shop to see whats up.
