I finally found a used one at a decent price and installed yesterday. Boy what a pain in the butt to install it.

Anyway, I have serious doubts this thing provides any performance enhancements, but it sounds awesome and it gives the engine bay a nice look.

It's nice to hear the "swoosh" sound from the intake, without being too loud like a BOV and it changes the exhaust note to a slightly "thicker" sound.

Overall it's a nice mod, if you can get it for under $200, just my $0,02

That's what stopped me from buying it, I hate the bov sound on audi's.

movie aside.. im just wondering what the difference between a BOV on an audi is n a BOV in another car... as far as ive seen n heard the hks ssq sounds the same on a gsx, sti, vw 1.8, audi 1.8t the 2.0t..... greddy type is the same concept....

Lol powned by a newb! Not that I'm not one. BOV on audi/vw just doesn't sound right and having the air divert back into the system is better than purging it into the atmosphere.

the bov sound isn't really like the typical sound you would hear from a supra, evo, etc. you actually don't really hear it outside of the car too much. inside the car depending on how you drive it, will depend on how loud it will sound, you'll actually hear the spooling more than the BOV sound. i like mine, though no gains in hp or what not, i have been getting decent fuel mileage.

I thought the installation was pretty simple. I enjoy the sound, but like you I doubt it did much of anything for power (a friend hooked me up with a swap for stock so I figured why not?) And my friend and I agreed while doing the installation that the coating and metal Evo MS uses for the heatshield is really shoddy. You could see coating peeling on the edges and rust underneath. When I get a chance I'm going to pull the shield and recoat it in POR or some kind of high temp engine paint.

Evoms intake is probably one of our favorites on our B7 A4. We can run a special "1 time" production if we can get 20 people. OP, I am glad you found one and enjoying it.
