Ok Vorsteiner owners, listen up. I have my revised Vorsteiner hood on and I'm still not totally satisfied with movement in the hood. Here are my questions:

Can you pull up on either side of the hood when latched and feel it lift up? If so, by how much?

When driving, do you notice and lift of vibrations in the hood? Do they make you uncomfortable at speed, or is slight vibration accepted for such a light piece?

I have a set of aerocatches but really don't want to put them on if they aren't completely necessary. Any help I can get is really appreciated.

Thanks!

dood leave me alone, I was tired from studying. I am not a baller like you son, I gotta study!

anyhow:

You do not need hood pins for the hood at all. The hood was designed to not need them since it retained all the stock mounting points and mounted as an oem hood will, differently than other hoods. Arguably, there are a few hoods that have your same problem and it's pretty odd. Mine would sometimes have that problem that one side would "wiggle" but I readjusted the hood and it was a bit better.

I can't guarantee this thing will not fly open, but I have taken the car 100+ with no problem at all. As long as the hood latch is on tight and the other mounting screws, it should be pretty impossible unless some unforeseen act of god occurs.

I never really noticed my hood wiggling or what have you, until someone was in front of me telling me about it. It is trial and error to have the hood be 100% straight, must body shops take time to have the hood on perfect.

Let me know if you have any more questions or if this helped at all!

I've had my Vorsteiner hood for around a year now, utilizing the stock latch, without pins, and I have not had any problems. I have not noticed any movement or heard any vibration relating to the hood while driving. Pulling up on the sides of the hood, while latched, I get around 1/8" of movement. Hope this info helps a little.

How come no one ever mentions the occasionally poor fitment and need to modify? I mean for the cost of the hood it should have OEM fitment.

As always Randy, very helpful. When you did have the wiggle, what adjustments did you make to improve the fit?

Hey dude as randy mentioned there should be no need for pins. Mine uses all the stock components and fits very well. I actually don't have any type of movement. Its just keep wiggling it around and maybe you'll find its sweet spot.

I wanted one of these hoods but now I'm not too sure. I'd think the qaulity would be better than this.

Curious, is your hood a single sided or double sided one? Are the double ones more ridgid?

Vorsteiner is very reputable. Quality here isn't the issue, as QuattroDriver said, he gets barely no movement at all.

If theres any movement, it would be solely because of the weight.
