I am getting the BG service at a dealership and would like them to use a borescope to check the valves before and after so that I can see the effectiveness of the BG cleaning as well as determine if I need to do any further work to clean up any carbon buildup. I am noticing lost horse power and investigating this to see if this is a contributor.
There are several members that have mentioned that they have used a borescope to have a look. My dealer is humming and hawing about the additional cost of using the borescope. They are saying that there will be some work needed to get the scope in there to check. In the video (http://www.vimeo.com/3989681), it looks like they are putting the scope on to the side that looks very accessible.
Can anyone comment on the additional cost (if any) to use a borescope. Also I am assuming that the scope has a way to capture images, if not hopefully the images are displayed on a screen that I can take pictures of. It would be great to share my experience including pictures for everyone.
Thanks....
