yo
I am about to order an AWE quad tip exhaust for my 06 s-line tip but i had some concerns since it reuses the stock down pipe.
Will there be any difference in sound/performance since its not a full cat back system like the manual version?
May be a dumb question but id like to know before i order...
Thanks a lot guys[wrench]

just find a company that sells just the DP ..... shouldnt change performance much on stock turbo and u may get just a lil more sound out of a DP but nothing else really

The oem cat and downpipe are the most restrictive parts of the factory exhaust. Your biggest performance gain will be testpipe/hfc, second the downpipe, and third the remainder of the exhaust. If you just throw on a downpipe-back exhaust (ie oem cat/downpipe) all you really get is more noise. An aftermarket testpipe/hfc and downpipe will give you noticeable gains and quciker spool.

I have a DUAL tip AWE exhaust, stock downpipe and VMR testpipe.

How much louder would the car get if i replace the downpipe already having a testpipe + exhaust?
