So yeah.. this is my first post.. Had the car since November and have loved it then just got into an accident Saturday :(

It was a hit and run involving 3 cars but one of the cars left so the blame got placed on me and I got the citation for failure to yeild![evilmad] I will definitely see them in court because that is just ridiculous.. anyways here are the pics... It's in the body shop right now, non-drivable and will find out the damage probably by tonight or tomorrow.... All in all pretty lame

That sucks! I've had three hit and runs in my driving career in Vegas and I'm sure you know by now that Vegas drivers suck ass.

Also if you need a good traffic lawyer go see Craig P. Kenny. www.cpklaw.com

Bummer. But as long as no one got hurt, the car is either able to be fixed or replaced.

Ouch that hurts to see a fellow member in pain. I hope that its not totaled but it may be from the way the wheel looks. :( Good luck and hope it all works out.

I always stand amazed looking at wreck pics here. Our cars are beautiful works of art, but when it comes to stuff like this? The art is in the engineering. My worst wreck was in a Porsche 944. It flipped end over end once and rolled twice. Worst injury out of 3 people? Twisted ankle & seatbelt burn. This is one of the biggest reasons I buy German.

Man that is painful to watch. What an asshole the guy who drove off and flipped you with the blame. No one got a tag number or no witnesses at the scene? At least you're okay though.

I had not even a scratch on me.. The other car was a Chevy Malibu and both their front airbags deployed but no one was injured at all. As for the other vehicle, it was a big van and he probably didn't even realize what he did so he just kept on driving and no one got his plates :(
Got an update from the body shop though and damage is being estimated at $8500 right now. They told me that the more then likely will NOT be totaling it out. Said it has to incur about $10,000 more in damage in order to be totaled.. Seems kind of a high price to fix it without totaling it right? I mean the car will obviously never be the same again and when I go to sell it down the road the Carfax will show it and probably reduce my chances of getting top dollar for it.. idk

Ouch that is very close to being totaled. You are right about value of car and how it will drive. Hmm maybe somehow you are better off having them total if possible. Maybe when they look at it in more detail and start taking things apart it will be totaled. Anyways best of luck. Either way your insurance is going to go up too most probably. :(

That sucks it's that close to being totaled. I would try and fight for it to be totaled since you probably don't want it after incurring that much damage. Hopefully by the time they start tearing it apart, more damage will become apparent and it will be totaled.

So total is $8,100.. They are gonna start to fix it as soon as give the ok.. Still kinda pissed it isn't totaled but hey I might get some free parts out of it so whatever.. I have a few questions for you guys.. I'm sure the answers are here on the forum somewhere but my searches can't seem to find much..
They are putting on a complete rear bumper so any thoughts as what to get? A DTM rear or just let them put on the stock one? Gonna get a new rear suspension so I am having them buy me the KW V2 :) Also might be getting a new front bumper because when I spun around I clipped the curb and it's got some damage.. Should I just get another non S-line bumper or have them grab me something else? Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks

honestly its all up to you and what you like...im sure most people will tell you to upgrade to the DTM front and all that but in the end you got to make the decision lol
but if you want the DTM rear then i'd push for the front as well...or just get neither...thats my $.02

ex-G35

I have a Non S-Line though.. If I get the DTM front will I need a new grill or anything else or will it all bolt up?

stevegasm
04-29-2010, 04:21 PM
You have an S-line rear valence but no S-Line front?

Can I have your S-line rear valence? lol

That sucks about them not totaling it...in an accident like that the car may never feel the same, but maybe you'll get some nice upgrades out of it. Where are you having the work done?

I work for Desert Auto so I might have the car taken to Desert Audi just so I can use my employee pricing on the work and parts.. But as of right now my car is sitting at Jim Marsh on Centenial only because it happened on a Saturday night so everywhere was closed and my cousin works there.. But sorry if I made it seem like I had a S-Line rear valence because I don't lol. I was thinking about either S-Line valance or DTM rear.. So many options.. I don't know what to do.. haha

stevegasm
04-29-2010, 04:53 PM
Oh no worries, it's not your fault. In that picture it looks like your rear valence is painted to match the body color like an S-line valence but it could be the lighting.
