Hi,

today after I have looking around my engine, I noticed a smell of gas and after some time, I have found that on top of my HPFP there is a small gas leak which comes from a small hole which is next to the audi four ring sign on it.

here is the picture of my hpfp after I have cleaned it with some contact cleaner but you can notice there is a gas write after I have cleaned it...:

The gas comes out every 4-5 seconds in small amount like a drop or two and after I have unplugged the electric part from it and placed it back I could hear some strange sound from hpfp like a whisseling...

I also need to say that I did not drive my car for 4-5 days before this happen today...

Please help with your advices :)

I would say that's NOT safe to drive you need the HPFP replaced ASAP!

I would guess that's a fuel pressure sensor. Maybe the sensor just failed and that's all you need to replace?

that's, actually, the fuel pressure regulator and it cannot be replaced. need a new HPFP! the low pressure fuel sensor (G410) is on the side of the pump and for that there's TSB (they do fail).

Hi,
thank you all for your advices but I need to say that after driving it today, I did not notice any gas leaking any more...maybe tomorrow will be different but that is for now.
Does anyone knows what is the part number of G410 sensor?

Thank you

Man once a gas leak always a gas leak do not trust the pump or you may find yourself roasting marshmellow's while your car is burning on the side of the hwy.

Just my .02 though.

at a dealer it is commonly called a low pressure thrust sensor (there's a high pressure one on the fuel rail as well). the part number I got is 06E-906-051-K and that's for an 06 A4 2.0. it ran me $48.48 from the dealer. I hope this helps.

no kidding. I had a strong gas smell every time I started the car until CEL came on (P310B code) that pointed to a faulty sensor. I did not see any gas seepage though from the regulator.
