Hi
Im lookin to buy an 2006 Audi B7 2.0 TFSI quattro S-line Avant. It has an automatic gearbox with flappy paddles on the steering wheel to change gears if I wish to. Does that mean the gearbox is a tiptronic?

all automatics are tiptronics
Does that mean the CVT is finally gone from newer models?

Not quite, the Fronttrak (FWD) models come with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), not a tiptronic.

No
On B7's, If you have an automatic and quattro, you have a tiptronic. If you have an automatic and fronttrak, you have a CVT.

all of the automatics in the B7 you are able to shift manually if you want to. Other then the CVT which is the automatic that was offered for the FWD models
