So I purchased the foam gun from DD and I absolutely love it. The first soap I tried was Adams and it worked pretty good. Having tried Adams and wanting to broaden my soap/foam gun horizons, I tried E's perl's soap. I will not be finishing the bottle but instead buying more Adams for the foam gun. I noticed It seemed to leave minimal suds on the car and dried really fast. As for the two bucket method, it seemed to work better than the Adams.

Learning points...

Versatility for different soaps. The Adams seemed to work really good for the foam gun and was so-so for the bucket. Especially when I started adding more than just a dash of soap.

The Perl's was crap in the foam gun but wicked good in the bucket.

I might be doing something wrong but for those of you newer people (such as myself) when looking at soaps I learned they might not be good for every use. I know I spent/spend alot of time looking at products before buying so I figured it's time to give my two cents back.

I find perls to dry really fast even in optimal conditions. If i don't rinse it off immediately i get a nice white residue. never tried it in a foam gun, ill stick to the 2 bucket method. Thanks

Great Thread. I will be trying some of Meguiars shampoo as soon as my Adam's is gone.

You should try some Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss.....foams up very nice in the foam gun!

I use Meguiars in the bucket - not bad. Only so so in the foam gun.

I also find that the Adams works much better than the Perls using the gun - perls doesn't "suds up" all that much in the bucket either, but it does clean well (the lack of sudsing is normal for perls). Have also tried Sonax cw (works well in the gun, too), lusso cw (ok in the gun, better in the bucket) and p21s cw (meh in the gun, better in bucket, smells great, but doesn't suds up enough for me). And yes, I admit to being a cw whore. All around, Adams remains my favorite cw - good suds in gun or bucket, doesn't leave residue, reasonable price, etc., etc.

Hey all I will be the first to confirm Perls is horrible in a foam gun or even a foam canon, its best as a super slick no suds wash

Adam's (http://www.detailersdomain.com/adamspolishes-carwash1gallon.aspx), Optmum Car Wash (http://www.detailersdomain.com/optimum-carcare-carwash-1gallon.aspx), Lusso Auto Bathe (http://www.detailersdomain.com/lusso-autobathe.aspx), Sonax Gloss Shampoo (http://www.detailersdomain.com/sonax-carwash-glossshampooconcentrate.aspx) all great in a foam gun! Hope that helps.
