Mobil 1 oil 5w-40 ESP anyone run this or the turbo diesel one?

Has anyone run this before, bought some and want to make sure it will work/compatible.


Also, how about the Diesel version? The guy at auto zone said it works, I am skeptical.

I run the turbo diesel version. It's got more zddp which should reduce wear on my cam. However the additional zddp could damage my cat.

The mobil 1 5w-40 turbo diesel oil is a fleet spec, meaning it can be used on gasolines and diesels. the diesels are generally more hard working, so if it can protect the diesels, it will only help the gasoline engines.

I think it works but it does not meet the Audi certified specs, ie VW502 approved. I think only Mobil1 0w40 does.

I need to go online and get some of that ZDDP additive for my next oil change. If i were you stick with the VW spec oil. Get some ZDDP too!

Yes I have always used Mobil1 0W40 and my cam follower still looked new at 98k miles.

Glad to hear this.The Mobil1 0W40 was the only oil at WalMart that met the VW spec.:)
