Black Optics package cost?

The Audi Exclusive brochure mentions a $1200 surcharge per vehicle.

For those that ordered the Black Optics package, but no other Exclusive options...did you get hit with that surcharge?

My dealer wouldn't waive/eat the charge.... I wanted the black optics pack and the RS4 style wheels but wasn't willing to pay the upcharge..... dealer said they couldn't do anything and I have a good relationship.... later Ron

If you get a custom paint color they waive it, otherwise you will likely have to pay.

are you sure? I thought you had to pay the surcharge to get the custom paint color too...

Here is a post from someone who is a member and got a nice Suzuka Gray Exclusive colored B8 S4, I am not sure if this is a seperate fee over "joining" the Audi Exclusive program or not.

If your dealer isn't to enthused about giving you a large enough discount, trust me another will........ I ordered Daytona Grey, black optics, red piping floor mats, and all, and all got my s4 for 600 over invoice on the custom order. If you haven't already, probably best to wait for allocations for My2011

Suzuka and Daytona gray are both amazing colors...I could probably justify the extra cost.

I doubt there would be many 2011 allocations equipped with Black Optics and/or Exclusive Paint, but without Silk Nappa (I want Alcantara).

Just to make sure I'm understanding this correctly: If I were to order an Audi exclusive exterior paint AND the Black Optics package, then according to Audi I would be responsible for the $2500 for paint, $1200 order fee, and $620 for the Black optics package?

you got it. I believe they're bringing the Ti pack to us models in 2011 though.

Wow really? So they waive the 1200 if you ONLY get paint? If you get more than paint they slap it back on again?

All the chrome trim on the exterior (grille surround, windows, etc) is replaced with black trim.

I took this to mean that if exterior paint is included in your order, even if you order other Exclusive options, then the fee is waived..

But if adding anything aside from paint will get that fee thrown on it, I guess I could just replace the trim with an aftermarket kit.


Edit: Never mind, I got the question answered. Black Optics + Paint would come out to $1200 + $620 + $2500.

Not worth it, looks like it'll be aftermarket trim replacements for me!
