Hi Everyone (and Enfig),

1) Enfig was super helpful buying this thing
2) Dont try to use the crappy scosche keys, the Metras are much better and actually work
3) I cant get the song/artist name to display on my MFD....

I installed the device as directed, replacing my factory CD changer. I switch to CD changer mode, and I do, in fact, see CD 1-6. So far so good. Switching to CD2 for artists for example, the MFD displays "Scan Art" on the first line, and the temperature outside (54F here in SF) on the second. As a scroll the left controller on the wheel, the artist playing does change, but the display on the MFD does not change, stays at "Scan Art / 54F". In all the youtube videos I saw, the second line would be the name of the artist.

How do I fix this? Not having the artist name appear rather kills the utility of the product for me (although will improve my song and playlist identification skills!).

We've seen this in some VW's you need to turn off the temperature display in the MFD menu. Give it a shot and let us know how it turns out.

Well, that sorta worked - theres no option to turn off the temperature, but as long as I dont have cruise control on, I can see the text.

However, I note that I have other problems:

1) Although I only replaced my factory CD changer, I now have no audio from my Sirius sat radio. controls all still work, and all the displays still work, just no audio. Ideas?
2) None of the controls work nearly as well as the videos suggest:

When scrolling through a list of items, everytime i scroll up or down it changes the item, not just when I press the button in the scroll wheel
Pressing the button in the scroll wheel has no apparent effect
It apppears there is no way go 'back up' the tree, so everytime I want to switch to scan artists, I have to go back to pressing the buttons on the head unit?

With all these problems and limitations (that aren't noted on the website or the videos for the 2009 A3), I have to say the device is pretty much no better than my already existing (and not $200) AUX input....

When scrolling through a list of items, everytime i scroll up or down it changes the item, not just when I press the button in the scroll wheel. I have noticed that at first when you are using scrolling around your playlists, artists, etc you go to the next playlist, artist, etc, but then after the unit locks into a certain playlist or artist it lets you flip through the individual songs. It took me a few minutes to get used to but, I like it.
Pressing the button in the scroll wheel has no apparent effect - I have the same issue, but I just use the button on the head unit.
It apppears there is no way go 'back up' the tree, so everytime I want to switch to scan artists, I have to go back to pressing the buttons on the head unit? I'm not sure how to answer this, so I won't.

In my B7 A4 I haven't seen all the same problems or even consider them limitations, so to me this is still the best option on the market right now. I'm still getting used to the device, but I think its well worth the money. I like to just turn my iPod onto shuffle and just flip through the songs I do and don't want to listen to. This is perfect for me, because I want to be able to see the song titles in my MFD and be able to change songs from my steering wheel. Could the unit get better? Yes, but Audi should have done that for all of us. Also, I would have PM'd Mike or Christian about issues first to see if they can help you, before I would have posted it in the forum for everyone to see.
