I was driving the car for approx 30 minutes before I got to my destination, when I went to park..I felt a slight jerk like a misfire. I put it in park and the car starts to rev by itself. I turned the car off and back on and everything is normal. I drove it some more after that and by the time I got home, it threw a CEL.
Im thinking it was it might be the coils or spark plugs. I just went to auto part store and they pulled 4 codes. I cant remember all 4, but the main ones were that the car was running too lean, and the air control valve/system. The car told me that it is easy to replace, but he could not pull up the part. I tried googling for it but didnt come up with any air control valve for our cars.

The forum search showed this B6 thread (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?326808-rpms-fluctuating-at-idle...&highlight=air+control+valve)

Anyone ran into a similar situation? I rather troubleshoot and fix it myself before I try the dealership because I'm out of warranty.
thanks

Last time that I encountered this my intake inlet hose fell off. You should check that [up]

Take to Audi,, have them repalced all the coils. also replace intake valve and DV valve.. i had the same problem and after all that got repalced everything came back to normal..

good luck.

thanks..i will check into it tomorrow. I want to try and avoid the dealership, but that will be my last resort. I have the forge dv valve, so I will just recheck my connections.
Can you elaborate a little bit more on the intake valve..thanks

Damn I wish I read this thread sooner...but I ended up changing all the coilpacks and new sparkplugs. I guess they needed to be changed anyway since Im over 70k. I did change the PCV once already just for preventative maintenance a year or two ago. I dropped it off to the tuner...I guess I will just go take it home and buy the PCV valve.

Here were the codes for the CEL:
PO507
P12A2
P0171

Anyone know which one I need? (whole kit, or just the pressure regulator valve)

This was the kit I bought 2 years ago (http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_A4-FWD-2.0T/Engine/Emission/ES8590/)
Should I get the same thing or replace piece by piece

i had the same reving problem with mine.I took it to the dealer a number of times before one finally figured it was the crankcase ventilation valve. It would rev up and down, throw cel's and then the same day or next it would go away and then come back. I would see if thats your problem, it was a huge pain in the ass.
