Nice little key on my passengers side rear quarter all the way through to the rear door. My local Audi dealer runs a body shop and I have a very small deductible, but it they would have done this were I saw them then I would have for sure pressed charges. I have a CPO car and am worried if I get it re sprayed will it decrease the market value any? I may see if I can just get it buffed out and call it a day but stuff like this really makes me upset. Yeah I am sorry I do not drive a POS Ford or Chevy. Very pissed off... rant over.....
I'd be just as pissed man.. that sucks. Hopefully it's back to tip-top in no time [up]

what is wrong with people these days? I mean I do not live in the greatest state as far as income goes but I know if I see someone in a BMW Lexus Audi Jaguar ** I am like wow nice car. I do not go out of my way to be a double douche bag and key it ** some people deserve their position in this LIFE>>>>>>>

Man i feel your pain... my car was keyed two years ago and they hit every single panel except the left rear quarter panel... even got the roof....
Try to see if you can buff it, but if you're through the clear-coat and can see the metal... you're prob outta luck. The value will decrease unfortunately... if you re-sell, go through private seller and you won't have dealer-inspection on it.
Also, got any pics?

i don't think anyone, no matter what car they drive, deserves to have it keyed by some d-bag.
it sounds like you can get this fixed relatively painlessly through your dealer. don't worry about the value of your car being affected, we're driving b7 a4s...it's not like a brand new rs5 or something off the lot.

it is in the shop right now getting some window tint. My tint person actually noticed it. I guess this is common problems for Audi BMW and Jag owners huh? Man I am really upset but things do happen just lucky it is blue and not black or else it would show like a mother. Yeah I can post pics later. So did you have your car totally repainted?

yep... complete respray. Still brilliant black... and had my valence color-matched in the process along w my key-holes haha.. no need for the penny mod [>_<]
Cost about $2500 down in miami to get it done.

yeah some truth to what you are saying but I take really good care of all my cars and something like this is just not right. I thought to myself well it is not like I bought a new s5 or rs4 or something along those lines. I have bought cars in that range before and you are definitely a lot more cautious of them. If I did I would probably lease it and drive my everyday car to work and whatever and only on special occasions dive the big ride but some idiot would probably find a way to key it as well. It seems it is all the high luxury stuff they do this too. Cars like Lexus, BMW and Audi are huge targets for the unemployed American auto workers.

If someone had a problem with me, I would much rather have them come up to me and punch me square in the nose instead of keying my car. That is so cowardly.

I hate this crap too, man when my bro got the 350z it got keyed the first day he took it to work, and same with me when ever I take the audi to work. I don't like most american cars period. if they made better cars and lowered the prices I would buy an american one but again that sucks. I sound angery dont I? bla bla bla

I'm sorry this happened to you; it really sucks. I'm with Zacko, I would rather someone take their problem up with me. Perhaps a good detailer can clean it up for you without the need for a re-spray.
Last week I had an old lady set her luggage bag on my hood, then drag it off. The luggage had little metal feet. I raged for a good 24-36 hours. Luckily, a great detailer was able to get the paint to a point where I can only see the marks if I have the right light and know just where to look.

It sounds like it's not as deep if you didn't notice it right away, maybe you would be able to fix it with some polish or rubbing compound.

^^ try this first. Or try to wet-sand then follow with compound/polish.
See if you can find a true detailer near you (search local forums, or the phone book but ask to see photos of their work). Or search on autopia.org
If it happened to me, I would do whatever I could to avoid a respray. If you go through insurance (which should not increase your rates, as this is a comprehensive claim, not collision) it will more than likely show up in Carfax/Autocheck. Which does reduce the value of your car. Or at the very least can make it harder to sell.
What color is your car? If it is silver or white, I bet that scratch could almost be made to disappear.

it is blue usually if your finger nail catches in it which mine did then it will need to be resprayed. I plan on keeping the car for a while though and I know some award winning body repair guys **- so hopefully I can get it done and everything will come out ok.

How did this turn into a "Bash American Cars" thread?
I'm sorry you got keyed, but calling American cars pieces of shit kind of leads me to believe that maybe you're the kind of arrogant person that "keyers" would target.
Just sayin'.

did I know the person who keyed my car? I was away on a business trip so it is doubtful I even know this person. I had temp tags on my car which might have made it a target but I do not know. There are some real HATERS out there and that is for sure. Also I said unemployed American auto workers which there has to be reason why they are unemployed ** well yeah that is it all the people buying foreign cars and they even put that in their commercials. Ford and Dodge make ok products but I would not ever own a Chevrolet period.

If your car had the ability to talk, I think it would give you a harder time because you smoke in her! :(

Well, I personally wouldn't buy an American car except for a few here and there (new tahoe, Sierra Diesel, C4 ZR1, and a couple others); mostly because they're built like shit.
To OP, sorry to hear about the key marks..=[

ya for sure car is probably hella sad that you smoke in her... but ya i walked up to my car one day and what do i see, but the section above the rear wheel is all dented. not like a car hit it, but somebodys smacked it or punched it and there just enough dent to notice it at an angle and it drives me crazy. but those cheap dent removing kits kind of sketch me out, don't know how well they work

dang, I would be sad if someone keyed my car.
if you get it fixed at an authorized place i dont see how dealer will say anything...call and ask them, just say "what would happen if my car gets keyed" :D
