Hello I purchased a 2006 Audi A4 CPO car and have some questions about the warranty. I do not mind going to the dealer and having them perform the scheduled maintenance but why pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars for something that would take me half the time to do and 1/3rd the money? I have the CVT so I will have to have the dealer take care of that but if a customer performs their own maintenance does that mess with their warranty any? will Audi cover their power train for certified pre owned warranty if a customer handles their own oil changes, filter changes and brakes?
guess I could call them but I just want to make sure this will not mess with the CPO program?
They should, I'm doing my non-major service intervals. Save the receipts from any oil and filters you buy.

My understanding is that you can do the maintenance yourself, but you need to document- reciepts for material, dates, mileage. The best would be if you printed the checklists from alldata and dated one of those.

Alldata is a kind of online Bentley manual that all the shops use. You would need to document that you did all the checklist items at each service interval. You would probably be better off, since most dealers don't even do everything on the list- checking cabin filter, etc.
There are discounted subscriptions for home mechanics.

yeah this would not give them an out if something went wrong. So I guess it would be best to do the dealer thing until the 100 grand interval. my job's car allowance pays for the ride so I guess the least I could do is maintain it correctly...

You can do them on your own, but if something happens and it seems that it is somewhat related to something you or another shop did they will not warranty it. I've seen this happen first hand with a customer who changed the oil at jiffy lube.

x2. Plus it keeps my service people happy when I throw them the business.

you're safest bet is to call AOA or at least your local dealer and ask what you need in order to avoid any future warranty problems. They will probably just require receipts, but check to be sure...
I bought mine CPO (with 3k miles on it [>_<]) but was still able to buy Audi Care for new vehicles for $740 which covers 15k, 25k, 35k, 45k ... and then purchased the CPO Audi Care plan for $xxx which covers 55k, 65k. It's a great deal depending on how many miles you already have if you have the CVT compared to what it would cost to service at the dealer at those intervals without the plan... It pays for itself after like 2 visits.
The 35k for CVT costs something like $540 on its own (transmission fluid change can only be done by them and is expensive)! So the $740 up front was a no-brainer for the peace of mind to know my car is being taken care of by Audi techs for it's lifespan. [wrench]
